Ahmedabad, Gujarat | August 2026: Narayana Business School Ahmedabad (NBS Ahmedabad) has joined hands with Coursera to expand learning opportunities for its students on a global level. Through the partnership, NBS students will have direct access to 28,000+ courses from leading universities and industry experts across the world, along with opportunities to earn globally recognized and verifiable certificates and micro-credentials.
The partnership gives students the freedom to decide what additional skills they want to build during their time at NBS. They can choose courses based on their interests, career plans and the skills they want to add to their existing academic learning.
Commenting on the partnership, Dr. Purvi Gupta – Dean of Academic Affairs, Narayana Business School said:
“Students today need opportunities to learn beyond the subjects covered in their academic programmes. Our partnership with Coursera will give NBS students access to a much wider range of courses and allows them to choose skills based on their individual career goals. We want our students to leave NBS with the confidence and habit of continuing to learn throughout their careers.”

What Are Micro-Credentials?
Micro-credentials are short, skill-focused qualifications that show that a learner has completed training in a specific area and demonstrated knowledge or competency in that area. Unlike a broad academic qualification, they are focused on skills, much like the academic programs of NBS, which makes them useful when students want to build expertise in areas that sit alongside their main programme.
They are also verifiable and can be shared as evidence of additional learning. For Narayana Business School students, this creates an opportunity to graduate with more than their core management qualification. They can build a set of credentials around the skills they want to be known for, whether that is Artificial Intelligence, data analytics, finance, leadership, communication or another area relevant to their career. In a job market where employers often look for specific skills, these credentials can give students another way to demonstrate what they have learned.
Micro-credentials is one of the most important elements of the partnership. Coursera’s credentials are verifiable and recognized globally, giving students an additional way to demonstrate their learning when building their professional profiles.
Learning From Global Universities and Industry Experts
Through Coursera, students can learn from universities and industry experts from different parts of the world. This gives them the opportunity to explore subjects that may sit outside their regular curriculum and understand how different industries approach specific skills and areas of knowledge.
For a management student, this can mean combining classroom learning in management with additional learning in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, analytics, finance, technology or professional communication.
This exposure coupled with the annual global immersion programs at NBS Ahmedabad will act as a catalyst of being highly employable for each student. The objective is not to replace classroom learning, but to give students more choice in what they learn alongside it.
Coursera also gives NBS students access to its Career Paths and Learning Paths modules, which can help them organize their learning around a specific goal. Rather than choosing individual courses without a clear direction, students can follow a structured path that connects different courses and skills to an area they want to work in.
Combining Specialized Management Education with Self-Paced Learning:
NBS programmes are designed around specific career areas and include experiential learning, industry interaction and hands-on exposure. For example, a student pursuing PGDM in Data Science & Analytics already works with areas such as Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, machine learning and AI through the programme. With Coursera, the same student can choose additional courses in a specific area of interest, such as generative AI, advanced analytics or a related business application, and earn a credential for that learning. Similarly, a student in PGDM Quantitative Finance can use the platform to explore additional learning in finance, analytics or related technologies, while a student in the PGDM Dual Specialization can use it to strengthen skills outside their two chosen specialisations.
Our Effort Towards Continuous Learning:

The partnership comes at a time when the skills required across industries are changing quickly. Students entering the workforce will encounter new technologies, tools and job requirements throughout their careers. Developing the habit of learning independently can therefore be as important as learning a particular skill. With Coursera, NBS students can continue adding to their knowledge and credentials during their time at business school and beyond. The courses and credentials they complete can become part of a longer learning journey as their interests and career plans develop. The partnership was formally signed with Abhiishek Singh, Enterprise Account Executive at Coursera, representing Coursera. NBS appreciates his role in bringing the partnership together and looks forward to the opportunities it will create for its students.
